CAPIZ — More than 20 national and local government agencies converged at Robinsons Roxas on September 14, to bring essential government services, resources and assistance closer to thousands of Capisnons through the Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat service caravan.
The mega-service caravan formed part of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s nationwide initiative to make government services more accessible, held in connection with his birthday celebration on September 13.
The event was organized with the support of the Provincial Government of Capiz under Gov. Fredenil H. Castro, which helped facilitate the delivery of various government services at a single accessible venue.
National government agencies worked with their provincial and local counterparts to provide on-site assistance covering social welfare and livelihood, agriculture, healthcare, education, digital infrastructure, legal services and documentation.
Among the participating agencies were the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Transportation, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Migrant Workers, Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform, Philippine Crop Insurance Corp., Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Philippine Coconut Authority and National Irrigation Administration.
Health-related services were also provided by the Department of Health, National Nutrition Council, Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital-Yaman ng Kalusugan Para sa Pamilyang Pilipino and Philippine Health Insurance Corp.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Commission on Higher Education, Capiz State University and Department of Information and Communications Technology likewise participated in the caravan.
Legal, documentation and security services were made available through the Department of Justice, Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Public Attorney’s Office, City and Provincial Prosecutor’s Offices, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine National Police and Philippine Statistics Authority.
By bringing multiple government agencies together in one location, the caravan reduced the need for residents to visit different offices to access government assistance and services.
The initiative particularly benefited senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs), who were provided easier access to government programs and assistance.
