Health centers in Bacolod to cater PhilHealth Konsulta

BACOLOD City – Thirty health centers in this city will cater the Konsulta (Konsultasyong Sulit Tama), a comprehensive outpatient benefits as mandated by the Universal Health Care (UHC) law .

Engineer Mae Cuaycong, focal person of the Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP), said the health centers will cater the Konsulta, implemented by the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), once Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez approves the proposal.

She said a meeting was held earlier wherein PhilHealth, City Health Office (CHO), and other stakeholders talked about plans to enhance the services of BacCHP by integrating the PhilHealth Konsulta.

Through the Konsulta, Cuaycong hopes that all BacCHP members will have an annual check-up so that they can start profiling every resident here by making them fit.

“This will also help us identifying the top causes of the maintenance they need,” she said. “While doing this also, the city gains a little bit of fund from PhilHealth to also support and finance the needs of the BacCHP.

All BacCHP members and their dependents can avail of the Konsulta based on the prescribed package provided by the Philhealth including the laboratory test.

Konsulta can also help reduce the numbers of the recipients asking medical assistance through Bayad Agad program of the city government.

The BacCHP aims to give preventive and curative health care services to qualified PhilHealth indigent members in the city./PN
