Himamaylan City’s ‘top most wanted’ falls in Bacolod

BACOLOD City – After nine years of hiding, the most wanted person in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental was arrested at the Bredco Port in Barangay 2 here.

The 40-year-old Norman James Anipan was a construction worker in Hacienda Lizares, Barangay Mambagaton in Himamaylan City.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Romeo Vargas, chief of police, Anipan was also Negros Occidental’s No. 20 fugitive.

The suspect was arrested by joint operatives of the Himamaylan City police station, Police Regional Office 6’s Intelligence Unit, Bacolod City Police Station 2, and the Philippine Coast Guard around 1 p.m. on June 27.

Judge Nilo Sarsaba of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 56 in Himamaylan City ordered Anipan’s arrest for the crime of murder on June 18, 2012.

The court denied bail for the temporary liberty of the suspect who was detained at the Himamaylan City police station./PN
