BACOLOD City – The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) – Negros Chapter successfully conducted its 62nd General Membership Meeting and Induction of Officers on June 25, at O Hotel here. Representing leading companies across Western Visayas, 45 HR practitioners networked and exchanged innovative ideas during day-long learning sessions.
The event kicked off with insightful professional development sessions designed to elevate workplace competencies. The morning session featured Prof. Edwin M. Jardin, Senior Partner of Cresue_Innovare Consulting, who delivered an in-depth discussion on ‘A Comprehensive Briefer on Sales Skills, Process, Execution, Evaluation & Discipline (SPEED)’, equipping participants with actionable frameworks to systematically enhance sales performance.
During the afternoon session, Joanne F. Antiquina, co-founder of LILOLELE, shared strategies on “Building Highly Effective and Synergistic Teams”, emphasizing collaboration and leadership dynamics. Her presentation offered participants actionable approaches to fostering stronger workplace relationships and productivity.
One of the key highlights of the event was the session led by Nicasio A. Pimentel III, psychology faculty member at the University of Antique, featuring his presentation ‘Smart HR: Applying Machine Learning to Workforce Analytics.’ This marked one of the first demonstrations of machine learning applications in HR analytics at a professional HR forum in the country. His interactive session demonstrated Python coding in action, walking attendees through the creation of a basic machine learning model for compensation prediction. Using real HR datasets, he showed how predictive modeling and data-driven algorithms can enhance talent acquisition, performance analysis and retention strategies.
