HUA SIONG College of Iloilo and Central Philippine University claimed the overall championships in the elementary and high school divisions of the 2017 ILOPRISAA lawn tennis on Sunday at the La Paz plaza in Iloilo City.
Hua Siong dominated the elementary and high school boys’ events while CPU stamped class in the elementary and high school girls’.
Jeff Jimenea and Orak Bagambang made a 1-2 finish for Hua Siong in elementary boys’ singles and landed on second place in doubles.
Hua Siong also claimed silver and bronze courtesy of Jon Dreve Jimenea and Danny Dolar, respectively, in the secondary boys’ singles, and silver in doubles from Jan Keith Hong and Meely Rofelos.
CPU, on the other hand, ruled elementary girls’ with Alecka Cruzata and Aleeva Suace bagging gold in doubles and Jacel Ann Barreto taking bronze in singles.
Althea Rose Martinez and Princess Ramirez won for the school gold and bronze, respectively, in secondary girls’ singles, while Avril Suace and Rissa Ann Cubos bagged the doubles gold.
University of San Agustin, meanwhile, swept the tertiary men’s and women’s events./PN
