BACOLOD City – After shooting his wife, a resident of Barangay Bakid, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental shot himself.
Remenchu Montealegre has long been suspecting his wife Marcela was having an affair, according to Superintendent Arnel Arpon, Guihulngan City police chief.
The husband and wife were both 52 years old.
After a fight around 8 p.m. on Monday, Remenchu fired at his wife. Marcela died.
Remenchu then shot himself on the chest but survived.
He was brought to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City.
Remenchu will be detained when he gets out of the hospital and charged with parricide./PN
