ICPO nets P112.5-M drugs, 654 suspects in 9 months

ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) seized P112.5 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 654 suspects across 543 operations conducted from January to September this year.

Data from the ICPO showed that anti-drug operations yielded 16.54 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P112.5 million.

Police also confiscated 287.81 grams of marijuana, 3.13 grams of high-grade marijuana or “kush,” and 2.837 grams of liquid marijuana during the nine-month period.

Of the 654 arrested suspects, 174 were classified as high-value individuals (HVIs), 459 as street-level individuals (SLIs), 12 were apprehended via warrants of arrest, and nine were newly identified drug personalities.

A breakdown of the operations shows that the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) spearheaded the campaign with 73 operations, followed by Iloilo City Police Station 4 (ICPS 4) with 65, and ICPS 2 with 56.

Other operating units included ICPS 6 (48), ICPS 9 (46), ICPS 10 (46), ICPS 3 (45), ICPS 1 (42), ICPS 8 (42), ICPS 5 (39), ICPS 7 (38), and the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC) with three operations.

ICPO director Police Colonel Wilbert Parilla commended the operating units for their sustained efforts and acknowledged the continued support and cooperation of the community in the campaign against illegal drugs.

“Magpatuloy tayo sa laban kontra ilegal na droga. Bawat operasyon ay proteksyon sa buhay at kinabukasan ng ating mga kabataan. Sama-sama nating panatilihing ligtas ang ating komunidad,” Parilla said.

Parilla assured the public that the ICPO will continue strengthening its law enforcement and community-based efforts in close coordination with partner agencies to safeguard Iloilo City./PN
