ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has launched two telephone hotlines where the public that call or send text messages in seeking police assistance.
The telephone numbers are (033) 337-0400 (landline) and 09083370194 (cellular).
There are “no charges for every call and text”, according to Senior Superintendent Remus Zacharias Canieso, city police director, during the launching yesterday.
The hotline numbers are seen to improve the response time of the police to calls for assistance and emergency situations.
“These phones are open round-the-clock and manned by ICPO’s City Tactical Operations Center,” said Canieso.
He acknowledged that the phones of various police stations may not be easily reached all the time, thus the launching of the two emergency assistance hotlines.
“These numbers are not only for quick police assistance. Those who have complaints against our police officers may also call or text the hotlines,” said Canieso.
The numbers also accept confidential information on criminals, he added.
The city police director expressed confidence that through the emergency hotline numbers, residents would feel all the more closer to the police and trust them.
“For sensitive information, we assure the public utmost secrecy of their identity,” said Canieso./PN
