Igbaras market, municipal hall operations suspended

ILOILO – Operations in the public market and municipal hall of Igbaras, Iloilo are temporarily suspended following 15 new recorded cases of COVID-19.

Mayor Jaime Esmeralda issued Executive Order Number 05-23 which states: β€œAn order implementing amended guidelines and protocol in response to increasing COVID-19 positive cases in the Municipality of Igbaras, Iloilo.”

The EO took effect yesterday, May 26, continuing until further notice.

It noted that one of the 15 persons found positive for the virus is an employee of the local government. The rest are occupants and vendors of the Igbaras Public Market.

The EO continued: β€œTo give way for the contact tracing team to identify the closed contacts of the positive cases, there is a need to close temporarily the market operation and LGUs offices and also to limit the spread of the virus.”

β€œIn order to promote the General Welfare of our constituents especially the health and safety of the residents and to prevent further transmission and to easily contain the virus, there is a need to implement necessary guidelines and protocol in the municipality.”

Mayor Esmeralda issued the following:

* Temporary suspension of market operation.

– All stalls and tables are temporary closed effective May 26, 2021 until further notice.

* Temporary suspension of work at the local government unit.

– Offices in the Municipality Government of Igbaras, Iloilo shall be temporarily suspended effective May 26, 2021, 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

 – Offices shall resume on May 31, 2021 depending on the outcome of the containment and emergence of new cases of the virus.

–  All employees shall be on work from home status. Essential and immediate needs of the constituents shall be attended through phone or virtual/social network it if warrant.

* Suspension of tourism and leisure activities.

– All tourism and leisure activities in the municipality of Igbaras is temporarily suspended until further notice.

– Inland resorts operation and other recreation activities are also suspended until further notice.

* Other business outside Igbaras Public Market.

–  Only businesses selling essential commodities are allowed to operate. Non- essential business such as computer shops, saloon, barber shops, spa and the like are not allowed to operate until further notice.

* Curfew hours shall be from 9:00 o’clock in the evening until 5:00 o’clock in the morning.

* Mass gathering is prohibited.

* Limit activities of individual especially senior citizen, person with co-morbidity and children.

* Liquor ban is hereby implemented effective May 26, 2021 until further notice./PN
