ILOILO City – In Barangay Pali, Lambunao, Iloilo a suspected bet collector for an illegal numbers game was arrested yesterday.
Glen Jerson Lavente of Barangay Walang, Lambunao was detained at the municipal police station.
Around 11:15 a.m. cops caught him in the act f soliciting bets for “bookies.”
Lavente yielded P305 cash in various denominations, pieces of paper and a pen.
The suspect faces a charge for violating Republic Act that outlaws illegal gambling.
As an illegal gambling collector or agent, Lavente faces “from eight years and one day to 10 years” of imprisonment if found guilty by the court./PN
