ILOILO City – The Iloilo International Airport recently seized more than 100 umbrellas from passengers leaving the province bound for different destinations.
Passengers, however, destroyed most of the umbrellas out of frustration upon surrendering them to the airport personnel.
Umbrellas were prohibited in carry-on baggage, but they can be placed in check-in luggage.
The umbrellas, under the custody of a terminal supervisor, will undergo proper disposal.
Other confiscated items in the airport including the umbrellas that are in good condition are usually given to the students in some public schools in Cabatuan, Iloilo during Christmas season or during the foundation day celebration of the airport.
Airport terminal supervisor Art Parreño reminded passengers to be updated regarding prohibited items for carry-on baggage, to avoid delays in their flight schedule.(With a report from ABS-CBN News/PN)
