Iloilo City records no new COVID-19 cases for 7 days

ILOILO City – This city has not recorded new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for seven days – April 2, 3, 11, 13, 14, 15, and 17, according to the Office of the City Mayor.

On other days since April 1, there were only between one to four cases.

“Very happy ako,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas

The April (so far) COVID-19 daily case average is 88.95 percent lower than last month’s for the same period (March 1 to 17).

Treñas remains cautious, however.

“Indi lang kita magkalipat sige usar sang facemask. Maayo diri sa aton sige pa aton mask,” he said.

He stressed the importance of vaccination and urged those eligible to get booster shots as an added layer of protection.

COVID-19 vaccinations are now solely done in district health centers. The city government ceased vaccinations at its mega sites (malls and schools), having already achieved a high inoculation rate./PN
