Iloilo jins bag 30 golds in Visayas taekwondo tilt

ILOILO City – Taekwondo jins from the A. Diasnes Taekwondo Gym dominated the 1st Ganzon Visayas Taekwondo Championships over the weekend at Robinsons Place Jaro.


Taekwondo jins from the stable harvested a total of 54 medals – 30 gold, 19 silver and five bronze – in the poomsae and kyorugi events of the two-day tournament.


Lyn Owem Santacera, Lansil Andrew Brotarlo, Ashley Dello, and Franchesca Caeli Agulto bagged two poomsae golds each, while Jasmine Kay Badoles and Janus Miguel Tacsagon had gold and silver medals each.


Also winning one poomsae gold each were Jessamin Lauron, Markishi Anthonette Ting, Art Jost Ramos, Hannah Dello, and Justine James Diasnes.


Taekwondo is a Korean martial art characterized by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques.

In kyorugi, winning gold medals were Klieven Russ Palma, Jasmine Kaye Badoles, Kian Ezekiel Castigador, Hanna Dello, Ashley Dello, Janus Tacsagon, Cross Leone Tady, Iesu Ray Opeña, Kamron Morris, Janrae Gamboa, Franz Angelo Fernandez, Kaiser Prince Villanueva, Reign Allwin Alvaniz, Maria April Joy Muyuela, and Joshua Arlanza.


Capturing kyorugi silvers were Harish Sakthi, Markey Jaims Arboleda, Ehyan Talabucon, Charina Morris, Bianca Ysabell Teo, Angel Hormigoso, Jan David Baldisimo, Eithan Atutubo, Myrelle Palmejar, Kieth Matthieu Alvarez, John Arlanza, Gregory Lorenzo Galvez, Samantha Galvez, Justine James Diasnes, Bea Dacapaño, Kyle Castanos, and Nash Ivan Eraste.


Meanwhile, winning bronze medals for the stable were Oscar Damasco, Caleb Ezekiel Brigildo, Zeth Isiah Rico, Zara Belga, and Matthan Alinlangan./PN
