MANILA – Iloilo United-Green Archers Team B kept their hold of the top spot in the PFF Youth Football League U-15 with a 3-0 default win over Loyola Meralco FC at the Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa City.

The Iloilo City-based team’s win was a walk in the park after the Loyola squad chose not to show up to their scheduled match on Sunday, said team manager Joseph Celis.

“It was very unfortunate because we came all the way from Iloilo City and we are expecting to have a competitive match,” Celis told Panay News. “But a win is still a win for us.”

The Iloilo Green Archers will just have to wait for the outcome of the other matches to determine if they can capture the Group A lead. They are currently on top with 16 points on 11 wins, two draws and a loss.

Among Group A teams, only Dreaming FC and JP Voltes FC have a chance to snatch the overall title from Iloilo United, with both having 10 points each even as they still have two games each.

“It is still a huge achievement for us in this league,” Celis said. “We are just hoping for the best for our team.”/PN
