ROXAS City – ILOPRISAA halted the NOPSSCEA booters’ reign as Secondary Boys Football champion in the 2020 Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Meet with a 3-2 victory on Tuesday at the Villareal Stadium of the city.

James Karl Tuazon, Wrenz Ivan Lopez and Khent Brian Valenzuela fired a goal each for the Central Philippine Univerity-backed ILOPRISAA squad to dethrone NOPSSCEA-University of St. La Salle in their do-or-die matchup.

It was NOPSSCEA who broke the deadlock early in the opening half via Joshua Limco’s conversion in the 28th minute, but the IlOPRISAA team answered one back in the second half with a hit from Tuazon that stretched the match into extra time.

After the end of the regulation time, ILOPRISAA netted back-to-back strikes from Lopez and Valenzuela in the 84th and 87th minute to banner the score to 3-1. NOPSSCEA were able to pull one back, but the time remaining wasn’t a friend to score an equalizer.

Also part of the ILOPRISAA squad were Jose Maria Bellosillo, Hazael Cejar, John Christian Doyola, Ross Alfred Ferrer, Matthew Gabileo, Mark Gedaya, Johann Javellana, Francis Pueblo, Selwyn Mamon, Rejie Rafols, Paul Silao, Christian Vega, Rolf Alminaza, Zymone Binas, Jerein Dejando, Jil Pillora, Aaron Sumagaysay and Mel Supeña.

Both teams have split their first two matches.

NOPSSCEA drew first blood on Sunday with a 4-2 victory before ILOPRISAA usurped them back on Monday, 2-1./PN
