ROXAS City – A fire that broke out in Sitio Suol, Barangay Tanque, Roxas City, has been traced back to a neglected mosquito repellent underneath a bed.

In the initial investigation conducted by the Roxas City Fire Station, the fire originated from an improvised incense made out of egg trays to repel mosquitoes.

It is believed that the makeshift mosquito repellent ignited nearby materials, causing the flames to spread rapidly early Tuesday morning, March 26.

The blaze inflicted at least P50,000 worth of damage to three houses owned by Ronito Fabiania, Wilson Ombas, and Rofino Amacariona, as well as a motorcycle.

Three individuals sustained injuries while attempting to escape the fire, including Wilson and his wife, Evangeline, and Elsa Fabiaña.

Meanwhile, Mayor Ronnie Dadivas has personally visited the victims to extend financial aid.

He also distributed food packs, water, and clothing together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development./PN
