ILOILO – Hundreds of residents of Barangay Pagsanga-an in Pavia town availed themselves of various services in a medical mission organized by Panay News and the Daniel G. Fajardo Foundation, Inc. on Saturday, March 23.

Beyond its commitment to providing reliable information, both in print and digital formats, Panay News’ medical mission is its way of paying forward to the public, in line with its 43rd anniversary celebration this coming April.

Among the services offered, in partnership with the Iloilo provincial government’s Project Buligay, were general check-up with free medicines, circumcision, haircut, massage, and dental extraction and cleaning services. Each beneficiary also took home hefty gift packs.

Panay News chief operating officer and Pavia Sangguniang Bayan member Daniel “Dan” Fajardo II said delivering health services is one of the ways for the No. 1 regional newspaper in Western Visayas to show appreciation for the public’s rallying behind the newspaper’s decades-long success.

For the second time around, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. graced the successful event.

In his message, Defensor acknowledged Panay News’ notable role in informing the Ilonggos of the programs and projects of his administration and the provincial government of Iloilo.

Meanwhile, Pagsanga-an barangay captain Efren Casuncad expressed his gratitude to Panay News, Daniel G. Fajardo Foundation, Inc., the Iloilo provincial government, and all the event partners.

He said Panay News and Daniel G. Fajardo Foundation, Inc. is the very first private company and organization to visit Barangay Pagsanga-an to conduct a medical mission.
