
ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) confiscated P4 million worth of illegal drugs in a week of operations across the province.
From October 7 to October 12, a total of 12 operations resulted to the seizure of around 588 grams of shabu and arrest of 18 drug peddlers.
IPPO data showed that the biggest haul was led by the Balasan Municipal Police Station (MPS) where approximately P1.1 million worth of shabu was confiscated, followed by the Calinog MPS (P816,000) and Estancia MPS (P530,000).
The buy-bust operation in Barangay Bayuyan, Estancia town on October 12 was carried out by the local police along with the IPPO’s Drug Enforcement Unit, 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company and maritime police.
Police identified the arrested as alias “Nonoy”, a resident of the town’s Barangay Dan Banwa. He was classified as a high-value target.
“We are happy that our police chiefs responded to our order to intensify operations against illegal drugs” IPPO director Colonel Bayani Razalan said.
