BACOLOD City — A 61-year-old laborer is recovering in the hospital after being shot multiple times in Sitio Kaliban, Barangay Banogbanog, Isabela, Negros Occidental, on Sunday evening, February 1.
The victim identified as alias “Polds,” a resident of the same barangay, is currently recuperating at the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Rumirang.
According to the Isabela Municipal Police Station (MPS), the shooting occurred at around 9 p.m. while the victim was heading home riding his horse after securing his cow. The suspect, identified by the alias “JR,” a fellow laborer and resident of Barangay Banogbanog, allegedly shot the victim multiple times using an unidentified caliber of firearm.
The victim sustained eight gunshot wounds: four to his right leg, two to his thigh, one to his knee, and one to his calf. Despite his injuries, he managed to escape and seek help from neighbors.
As of this writing, the suspect remained at large. Isabela police were conducting follow-up operations to locate and arrest the suspect while investigating the motive behind the attack./PN
