ILOILO City – He was walking on Rizal Street, La Paz district when four men ganged up on him.

The attackers also struck the head of Joemil Bernardino, 35, of Barangay San Isidro, Jaro with an empty glass bottle, a police report showed.

The incident happened around 1:05 a.m. on Sept. 12.

At the time, Bernardino was bound for home after a drinking binge at “Promenade” in Barangay Rizal, La Paz.

The victim was clueless on who attacked him and why, the police report showed.

Officers responded to the area after learning about the attack from a security guard, but they were too late. The suspects were gone when they arrived.
