MANILA – Sta. Clarita International High School Primes forward Marc Kristian Jimenez is set to take his talents to Manila after being called up by UAAP juniors team Far Eastern University – Diliman Baby Tamaraws.

Primes head coach Rodel Camacho told Panay News the 6-foot-2 Jimenez’s impressive showing at the 2017 Palarong Pambansa in Antique caught the eyes of Baby Tamaraws scouts.

“Masaya ako for Marc. Nagbunga din ‘yung hard work niya at makakalaro na siya sa Manila,” Camacho said. “With his transfer to FEU, malalapit na siya sa dream niya na makalaro sa PBA someday.”

He added: “Marc is athletic player and he can play bigger than his size. He also has good attitude. I must admit malaking kawalan siya sa team ko but of course we will not block the opportunity for him to play in Manila.”

The Iloilo City-native Jimenez said he is excited to play for the Baby Tamaraws where he will reunite with former Western Visayas teammates John Bryan Sajonia and Ronrei Tolentino.

“I won’t have a hard time adjusting…I can only assure them na gagawin ko ang lahat para makatulong sa team sa UAAP kahit na bago lang ako,” he said.

Baby Tamaraws, the UAAP Season 79 champion, is aiming to bounce back from its Final Four finish in the just-concluded Season 80./PN
