BACOLOD City – A “holistic and responsive approach” is needed to fight poverty in the country, according to Vice President Leni Robredo.
Robredo said this in her speech on Wednesday during the Pasidungog 2018 of the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College at the SMX Convention Center in the city.
According to Robredo, poverty is a “big and complex issue” and “not just a single phenomenon.”
“We need to grasp it and act on it based on a holistic and responsive approach, one that recognizes the complexity of the poverty problem,” the vice president stressed, speaking before hundreds of people.
This approach must be done with a “stronger collaboration towards a shared vision,” Robredo added.
“If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, let us walk together,” she said.
Robredo also attended the Negros Occidental launch of “Istorya ng Pag-asa” at the Vianney Hall in the city.
She also went to the oath taking ceremony of the Knights of Docracy-Negros Occidental and Knights of Docracy I Support Group at the BBQ House along Lacson Street./PN
