WHAT if Filipino-American billionaire Loida Nicolas Lewis is an avid fan of LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the same level as she is a diehard supporter of former President BS Aquino and defeated presidential candidate Mar “Daang Matuwid” Roxas?

What if she would take the results of Game 5 of the 2017 NBA Finals where LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers lost the championship to the Golden State Warriors in the same manner when her candidate Mar “Daang Matuwid” Roxas lost miserably to Rodrigo Duterte in the finals of the 2016  Philippine presidential elections?

Before the uninitiated gets lost in translation, according to Wikipedia:

Loida Nicolas Lewis (born 1942) is a Filipino-born American businesswoman who is the widow of TLC Beatrice founder and CEO Reginald Lewis.

From 1994-2000, Loida Nicolas Lewis served as Chair and CEO of TLC Beatrice International, a $2-billion multinational food company with operations all across Europe. TLC Beatrice was the successor to the international operations of Beatrice Foods. She assumed leadership of the company after the death of her husband, the African-American Wall Street financier Reginald F. Lewis, who had been the company’s first chairman and CEO. Lewis served as an informal adviser and confidant to her late husband.

“Currently, Lewis is Chair and CEO of TLC Beatrice, LLC, a family investment firm.

“Lewis is a staunch supporter of the Liberal Party and the Aquinos (Ninoy and Cory) as she led anti-Marcos protest in the United States during his fall.”

On top of that, Loida Nicolas Lewis is also a staunch supporter and financier of Leni Robredo, from her congressional to vice presidential run to office. It is also a well-known fact that she financed that controversial “family vacation” of Leni at the height of Typhoon Niña which devastated her hometown Naga.

Meanwhile LeBron James is a professional basketball player playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the National Basketball Association aka NBA.

I shudder at the thought of what’s going to happen to the NBA if Loida dips her 75 years old hands into its affairs.

This is probably what’s going to happen if this scenario happens in real life: firstly, Loida will make a public statement that the NBA needs 18 more years of LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers or whatever his team is as champions.

Next, she will call her most loyal and high-financed minions i.e. Leni, Sonny, Gary, Jude, and Frank for a meeting in her high-end penthouse in New York to plan and map out strategies to discredit the champions Golden State Warriors.

Then news headlines, feature stories will start appearing in the New York Times, Time magazine and the Philippine Daily Inquirer all discrediting the games 1, 2, 3 and 5 wins of the Golden State Warriors while heaping praises to high heavens to the one and only win of the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

Almost simultaneously stories of the same nature will also come out in CNN and ABS-CBN television news and public affairs programs.

There will be demonstrations and rallies by Frappuccino- and Latte-infused students of Ateneo de Manila, La Salle, UP and St. Scholastica condemning the evils and abuses plus human rights violations of the Golden State Warriors.

Loida’s paid online army of trolls will start coming out with blogs, posts and twits vilifying the NBA 2017 Finals MVP Kevin Durant i.e. He does not deserve the award and he’s just playing on a stacked team.

The same online trolls will also start glorifying LeBron James  and comparing him to Michael Jordan as the greatest basketball player of all times. Of course, if you believe that bullshit then you also believe that BS Aquino is the greatest president of the Philippines and that his mother Cory is a saint whose sainthood was interrupted.

Nuisance lawyer Jude Sabio will then be commissioned to prepare a complaint to be submitted to the International Criminal Court or ICC at The Hague, Netherlands. The complaint will focus mainly on the charges that Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry committed an infraction during Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

Nuisance lawyer Jude Sabio’s complaint is that Stephen Curry did a double dribble hence the Game 2 win of the Golden State Warriors should be nullified and awarded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

A week after, nuisance legislators Antonio Trillanes and Gary Alejano will go to the ICC wearing sparkling new suits to file a supplemental complaint that because of the “double dribble” violation by Warrior Stephen Curry the 2017 NBA Championship should be instead awarded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

And finally, Vice President Leni Robredo will submit to the Federation Internationale de Basketball or FIBA headquarters in Mies, Switzerland a video of herself smiling while condemning the alleged 7,000 extrajudicial fouls committed against LeBron James by the Golden State Warriors during the 2017 NBA Finals series.

If you think this is ridiculous you’re right it is but the parallel is quite obvious. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
