Kris Lawrence recounted the 2006 incident involving his stolen phone and Alvin Aragon, saying the latter had apologized for it.
Aragon has been making headlines due to his criticisms toward his wife Izzy Trazona’s former girl group SexBomb Girls as well as her transgender child Sofia Trazona. He further became a trending topic on social media after his video admitting that he used to steal from others — with his victims including Lawrence — resurfaced.
Through his Facebook page on Monday, Feb. 23, Lawrence spoke about the matter and narrated how he was with fellow singer Jay R at a bar when they met a group of people that included Aragon. As the bar was closing at the time, Lawrence said he invited the group to his house to have a few more drinks.
“They came to the house and we started drinking in the studio. [Nung] sumisikat na ‘yung araw, pack up na, umalis na sila. When I was going back to my room, I noticed that nawawala ang cellphone ko,” Lawrence recalled.
Lawrence then said that one of Aragon’s friends called the former apparently out of guilt, and admitted that the then-“Starstruck” contestant took the singer’s cellphone.
“I was like, ‘Dude, why would you do that? Why would you steal from me in my own house? That’s so disrespectful,’” Lawrence continued.
“Nag-sorry siya and honestly, my fists were balled up. Gusto ko siyang suntukin pero I know that violence is never the answer, so I said it’s okay,” he stated, “Medyo binibinigyan ko pa rin siya ng attitude na understandable naman kasi ninakaw niya ‘yung cellphone ko.”
Lawrence even quipped that he had already forgotten about the incident, but was reminded of it after Aragon’s video admitting to it recently resurfaced.
“I know he’s in a better place now. I know he’s a Christian and alam ko naman na mabait si Alvin,” the singer said.
He, however, expressed confusion toward the end of the video as he addressed Aragon, “Naibalik mo ba [‘yung phone]?”
