ILOILO City – A supplies store in Barangay Santo Rosario-Duran, City Proper lost a chainsaw. Two of its employees believed the item was stolen.
Police have identified a suspect – a 44-year-old resident of La Paz district. They were searching for the latter as of this writing.
Workers Jona Rose Bernardo, 25, and Regan Salcedo, 22, reported to the police that a P32,000 chainsaw was stolen from EAJ Construction and Supply at around 8:56 a.m. on Feb. 16.
A review of closed-circuit television camera footage showed a man wearing a green polo shirt and a pair of jeans taking the chainsaw, a police report showed.
The police report identified the suspect as Roberto Salon.
The suspect rode a public utility jeepney to Plaza Libertad, transferred to a tricycle and headed to Rizal Street, and then boarded a taxi to Barangay Rizal, La Paz, investigation showed.
Officers have yet to find the suspect as of this writing./PN
