ILOILO City – Accused of hurting a teenager, a trisikad driver from Barangay Railway, La Paz district was arrested.
Rommel Tondo, 49, was charged with violation of Article VI, Section 10 (a) of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Officers led by Senior Inspector Rey Sumagaysay served him a warrant of arrest around 4:45 p.m. on Thursday in Barangay Magdalo, La Paz.
Tondo was accused of hurting a 17-year-old boy on Aug. 6. He denied this. He said he was surprised when police officers arrested him.
The suspect was detained at the La Paz police station custodial facility.
Acting Presiding Judge Juana Judita Panigbatan-Nafarrete of the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 issued the arrest warrant and set the bail bond at P80,000./PN
