ILOILO City – A 60-year-old woman harvesting rice was hacked to death in Barangay San Joaquin, Pandan, Antique.
Erlinda Fernando Jontillano died of hack wounds on the head, left arm and left shoulder.
The hacking happened around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, a police report showed.
A suspect had been named – Jontillano’s cousin Romeo Antonio Jontillano, a 45-year-old farmer.
As of this writing, the suspect’s whereabouts were unknown. Witnesses claimed seeing him run away with a bolo, according to the police.
An “old grudge” may have prompted Romeo Antonio to hack his cousin, the police report showed./PN
