ILOILO City – A 43-year-old construction worker was arrested for allegedly selling prohibited drugs in Zone 1, Barangay Ingore, La Paz, Iloilo City around 5:15 p.m. yesterday.
A former murder convict, the resident Rey Nasis yielded two sachets of suspected shabu, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6.
According to a barangay official, Nasis was released from detention in October 2016.
Nasis sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover agent for P500. Another sachet of the same substance was recovered from him, the PDEA said.
The suspect was hauled to the PDEA-6 detention facility.
In Barangay Ilaya 2, Dumangas, Iloilo, another drug suspect was arrested.
Seven sachets of shabu were seized from Niel Celiz, 44, of Barangay Badiang, Anilao town around 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
He sold one of the sachets to a police poseur buyer for P500, a police report showed.
A cellphone, an aluminum foil, a plastic bag, and a plastic straw were further recovered from him./PN
