ILOILO City – In Barangay San Antonio, Molo district, a stabbing incident marred a drinking binge among friends.
The victim, 34-year-old resident Joseph Aquino, was taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao.
Police identified the suspect as Ryan Paul Magbanua, 23. They were still looking for him as of this writing.
Aquino was drinking with friends in the house of Carlos Elmaguin around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 19 when Magbanua passed by. He offered Magbanua a drink but the latter refused and left.
Aquino later went outside the house to urinate but was surprised when Magbanua appeared and stabbed him using an icepick, a police report showed.
Magbanua fled while relatives brought Aquino to the hospital./PN
