MANILA – Sen. Panfilo Lacson agreed with former Customs commissioner Nicanor Faeldon that he was “really obsessed” with proving that the latter was accepting grease money while heading the bureau.
“Siya (Faeldon) nasa center ng tara (system),” or the acceptance of facilitating payment, Lacson insisted yesterday, a week after Faeldon filed an ethics complaint with the Senate against him.
Faeldon, who also filed an ethics complaint against Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV yesterday, called claims and any attempt to link him to tara “bullshit.”
“Bullshit ka din,” Lacson said of the former Customs official before reporters.
According to Faeldon, his alleged involvement in Customs’ tara is “really a lie.”
“I really want those tara to stop. I really want to know those people who are really involved in tara,” he said. “But when you say I am part of tara, I will tell you in your face, whoever you are, that you are a liar and you have the rest of your life to prove that.”
Faeldon said Lacson became “so obsessed” with him, especially after the ex-Customs official linked the latter’s son to cement smuggling.
Faeldon was right, said Lacson. “I am really obsessed to prove my point that what’s contained in my privilege speech is true.”
“I’ll give it to him. I’m really obsessed,” the senator said. “I’m analyzing documents and gathering evidence to file as many cases as I can.”/PN
