ANTIQUE – A couple in Barangay Carmelo I, San Remigio, sustained stab wounds after a heated dispute on Tuesday, March 26.
The victims were identified as Joel Teodoro and his wife, Mary Ann, both farmers and residents of the said barangay.
Suspect Gaspar Basañes, 66, is also a farmer and a resident of the same area.
An investigation by the San Remigio police revealed that the Teodoro couple was at their house with the suspect and his live-in partner after cleaning coffee beans when a dispute arose between Joel and Gaspar regarding a land claim.
The injured couple was immediately transported to the Ramon Maza Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Sibalom town for urgent medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the suspect was apprehended by responding police officers. A bladed weapon measuring about 20 inches was also recovered./PN
