ILOILO City – An 18-year-old man was arrested in an antidrug operation in Barangay Tanza Esperanza, City Proper district around 12:30 a.m. yesterday.
Suspect Benjie Griño of the above-mentioned barangay is the son of a drug suspect who was ambushed in Passi City back in 2021.
Griño sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P3,500 in buy-bust money.
A total of nine plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less five grams and valued at P35,000 were recovered.
The operation was carried out by the Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 1 led by officer-in-charge, Police Captain Peter John L. Ramos.
Griño is currently being held at the ICPS-1. He is facing a charge of violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
