Leisure travelers from NCR, 4 provinces barred

ILOILO City – Due to pandemic restrictions imposed in the National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, leisure travelers from those areas are not allowed in Western Visayas.

Those areas have been placed on general community quarantine, according to Department of Tourism (DOT) Western Visayas.

“Outbound leisure travel is not allowed for those from National Capital Region and its travel bubble circuit that includes Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal Area effective March 22, 2021 to April 4, 2021 unless lifted or extended by President Rodrigo Roa- Duterte,” part of the DOT Region 6 advisory read.

Regional Director Helen Catalbas, however, clarified that leisure travelers returning to NCR, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal are not covered by the advisory.

DOT-6 advised accommodation establishments to be guided by the following:

* be aware and make necessary preparations for notice of cancellation of booking or rebooking, as the case may be, from leisure travelers from the above-enumerated points of origin

* prepare a rebooking plan and disseminate the same among affected leisure travelers

* waive rebooking fees, if possible, to promote goodwill among booked leisure travelers and prospective ones
