ILOILO – Two lifeless men were separately found in the neighboring towns of Badiangan and Janiuay in this province recently.

In Badiangan, the body of construction worker Ronald Mayo was found in an advanced state of decomposition near the municipal police station in Barangay Poblacion yesterday morning, March 19.

Ronald is a resident of Barangay Bulay, Cabatuan, Iloilo, and is married to a native of Badiangan.

His remains were discovered after a resident reported a foul smell in the area to the police.

Major Bonifacio Alabe Jr., acting chief of police of Badiangan, said the Scene of the Crime Operatives will perform an autopsy on the remains to determine the cause of the victim’s death.

According to Alabe, the victim made a blotter report at their station on February 18, asking for help because a certain person was allegedly chasing after him.

The chief stated that the police offered to escort him to his house, but Mayo refused.

Ronald has reportedly not been seen since then. The family filed a missing person report on February 21.

Meanwhile, in Janiuay, the lifeless body of Edgar Calambro was found in the town’s Barangay Caraudan on Monday morning, March 18.

Edgar, a resident of Barangay Tambal, Janiuay, reportedly attended a feast in Maasin, Iloilo on Sunday and worried his family after failing to return home.

According to Captain Alwin Salmon, chief of Janiuay Police Station, the family maintained that the victim has no known enemies.

The body will undergo an autopsy as authorities also seek the person who was with the victim last before he was found dead./PN
