ILOILO City – An early morning anti-illegal drug operation yesterday, October 3, in Barangay Cabanbanan, Oton, Iloilo led to the arrest of live-in partners and the confiscation of approximately 1,100 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P7,480,000.
The operation against suspects identified as aliases “Lyn,” 32, from San Pablo City, Laguna, and “Andrew”, 32, from Barangay East Timawa, Molo district, was executed by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 in collaboration with the Oton Municipal Police Station (MPS).
The suspects were detained at the Oton MPS. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, lauded the efforts of the police operatives involved as well as the community for the arrest of the suspects.
“With our intensified efforts against illegal drugs and all forms of criminality, we encourage the public to continue supporting the police,” he added./PN
