LL Philippines cancels regional qualifiers

MANILA – The Little League (LL) Philippines cancelled the staging of its 2020 Regional Little League Philippines Series.
In a statement, the LL Philippines dropped its North and South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao competitions scheduled for this month following the enhanced community quarantine to curb the spread of coronavirus disease 2019.

The LL Philippines at the same time advised its members to wait for further announcement from the Little League International.

North Luzon’ host Iligan City was supposed to be joined by charters from Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.

Tanauan City, on the other hand, was supposed to host the South Luzon qualifier and compete with teams from National Capital Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol Region.

The Visayas leg, meanwhile, was slated in Dumaguete City with participants from Western Visayas, Central Visayas and Eastern Visayas.

Alabel, Saranggani was supposed to welcome guests from Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga Region and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao for the Mindanao leg.

The top 2 teams of each division were supposed to qualify for the 2020 Little League Philippines Series National Finals in Dumaguete City on May 21-28./PN
