ILOILO City – Vice mayoralty candidate Love Baronda continues to hold a strong lead over her rival, based on the latest non-commissioned survey conducted by Integrity Iloilo, a group composed of former professors and graduates from the University of the Philippines Visayas – College of Management.
The survey, held over the weekend of April 26 and 27, revealed that Baronda enjoys a 7% advantage over her closest contender.
The findings are consistent with the earlier survey conducted by Random Access Consultants, Inc. (RACI) on April 5 to 6, which showed Baronda leading the race with 53.3% of voter support.
Factoring in the margin of error of ±4%, Baronda’s support is estimated to range between 49.3% and 57.3%.
Meanwhile, her opponent, incumbent Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, received 46.5% support, with a possible range of 42.5% to 50.5%.
The survey results suggest a 6.8% gap between Baronda and Ganzon, solidifying Baronda’s position as the frontrunner in the vice mayoralty race as election day draws closer.
Meanwhile, the candidates for city councilor under Team Sulong Gugma, eight of whom were statistically tied in the April 5 to 6 survey, have narrowed the gap among themselves, indicating that their platform of government has been widely accepted and is perceived as responsive to the current problems faced by Ilonggos in Iloilo City.
With barely 14 days before the elections, Team Sulong Gugma anticipates a growing bandwagon effect that could propel their entire slate to victory in the May 12, 2025 elections.
Integrity Iloilo emphasized that the survey was independently organized and funded, ensuring an unbiased snapshot of the current political landscape in the city./PN
