KALIBO, Aklan – Low water supply is affecting businesses in this capital town.

“We are worried because our businesses have been affected by the low water supply,” said Ramel Buncalan, president of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Aklan Chapter (PCCI-Aklan).

Buncalan and other business owners in this capital town also lamented the “yellowish” water that they get from the Metro Kalibo Water District (MKWD)

“[We] noticed that the water being distributed by the MKWD is sometimes yellowish in color,” Buncalan said.

These concerns were raised during PCCI-Aklan’s regular monthly meeting on Aug. 9 at Metro Sky Hotel.

Aside from Kalibo, the MKWD also supplies water to its concessionaires in Banga, New Washington, Numancia, Balete, and Batan.

Buncalan said the PCCI-Aklan hopes that these concerns will be addressed./PN
