MANILA – PBA Governors’ Cup ousted teams Magnolia Hotshots and Columbian Dyip agreed on a one-on-one trade deal in a prelude to their build up for the 2020 PBA Season.

Approved by the PBA Commissioner’s Office, the Hotshots received forward Jackson Corpuz while sending Aldrech Ramos back to the Dyip.

The Dyip reached the Hotshots for the services of Ramos, a big man who has a decent outside shooting, after not renewing the contract of injury-hit center Jay-R Reyes.

While the Dyip is not ready to let go of Corpuz, a free agent pickup by the Columbian from the PBA D League two years ago, they were forced to do so as he was the exchange Hotshots asked for.

This will be Ramos’ second stint with the Dyip franchise after playing one of his best PBA seasons with the squad in 2016.

The Hotshots will be just the second team of Corpuz in the PBA.

Meanwhile, Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters also underwent offseason trade after acquiring the services of big man Elvin Jake Pascual from the Alaska Aces for a 2020 second round draft pick.

The Fuel Masters sought for the services of the former San Beda University Red Lions center following the recent retirement of big man Douglas Kramer./PN
