BACOLOD City – Mayor Joselito Malabor wanted to make Isabela, Negros Occidental a first-class municipality by 2020.
Currently, Isabela is a second-class municipality.
“The town is already behind for almost four years. I want to fast-track development,” said Malabor.
To achieve it, Malabor said they will promote agricultural products such as livestock, fruits, vegetables, rice, and corn, among others.
This plan was proposed to the markets, food terminals and slaughterhouses in the town, he added.
The local government will also engage in land banking to put up several projects.
A strategic plan for agricultural projects will be submitted to the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Economic Affairs.
Also, the mayor plans to relaunch the Tigkalalag Festival.
Tigkalalag Festival, celebrated every Nov. 1 to 2, was scrapped four years ago./PN
