BACOLOD City – In the wake of a series of robbery incidents last month, Mayor Evelio Leonardia requested the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to deploy more police officers in public areas.
In a press conference yesterday, Leonardia said he always reminds Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, BCPO director, of his administration’s top priority: fighting illegal drugs, illegal gambling and other crimes.
Wanky said he will heed the mayor’s request.
A “tracker team” was created last month to monitor and arrest members of a robbery syndicate.
“This is a special group of police officers that will run after a notorious syndicates believed to be behind the recent robberies in the city,” Wanky said./PN
