Man, 28, nabbed with ‘shabu,’ gun

BACOLOD City – Not only suspected drugs but also a firearm were recovered from suspected drug pusher at Fatima Village in Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The 28-year-old resident Richard Lagos faces charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Lagos was arrested after selling suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P1,100 around 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, a police report showed.

Recovered from his possession were five sachets of suspected shabu weighing about eight grams valued at P120,000 and P1,200 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions, police said.

When further frisked, Lagos yielded a .22 magnum revolver loaded with 2 live bullets.

Lagos was detained at the San Carlos City police station lockup facility./PN
