BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office’s Police Station 10 arrested a 49-year-old man for allegedly causing trouble and possessing unlicensed firearms in Barangay Felisa here on Tuesday evening, November 19.
Alias “Remo” was collared after the police received a report that he was creating alarm and scandal by firing a firearm.
Operatives of the Police Station 10 recovered from the suspect caliber .38 revolver with four live cartridges, caliber .22 firearm, four live cartridges, and one fired cartridge case.
The suspect is now under police custody. He will be charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591 (Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act) and RA 11929 (An Act Penalizing willful and indiscriminate discharge of firearms).
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, commended the vigilance of the village residents for reporting the incident on time and for the swift response of the police unit having jurisdiction in the area.
“May this arrest serve as a warning to everyone to be law abiding. Creating alarms and scandalous act are violations of law, to include possession of unlicensed firearm. Thus, persons having in possession of undocumented or unlicensed firearm are encouraged to deposit or surrender the latter to the nearest police unit in their locality,” Wanky added./PN
