
BACOLOD City – Nine individuals, seven of whom were minors, landed in a hospital after they were ran over by a tricycle along Araneta Street in Barangay Sum-ag here.
Authorities identified the victims as Hily Cuenca, 50, and Phoebe Islao, 41, both residents of Barangay Punta Taytay; and seven pupils of Sum-ag Elementary School.
Based on the investigation of the Traffic Management Unit (TMU) of the Bacolod City Police Office, the tricycle driven by Nelson Jalandoni, 76, a resident of Barangay Sum-ag, was traversing Araneta Street going south.
The vehicle accidentally hit the victims who were crossing the road from the school around 4 p.m. on November 19.
The victims sustained injuries in the different part of their bodies and were rushed to a private hospital in this city.
Jalandoni meanwhile was also hurt and was brought to Bago District Hospital in neighboring Bago City./PN
