GUIMARAS – A motorcycle crashed against a kuliglig – an improvised two-wheeled tractor with a trailer – in Barangay Alegria, Sibunag town on Monday.
The motorcycle driver, 27-year-old Reynald Maprangala of Sitio Badiang, Barangay San Antonio, Nueva Valencia town, died.
He was thrown off the motorcycle and fell into a nearby river where he drowned.
It took concerned citizens about an hour to retrieve Maprangala from the river. They brought him to the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital.
A postmortem examination showed Maprangala with severe head and body injuries.
He was not wearing a helmet, according to the Sibunag police station, and may have been inebriated.
