ILOILO City – In Malinao, Aklan, a man was electrocuted while a father was arrested for neglecting and abusing his child on Friday.
Renato Imperial of Barangay Manhanip died of third-degree burns, a police report showed.
Investigation revealed that Imperial was on the way to his cousin’s house at around 11:30 a.m. when he accidentally touched an open electrical wire, resulting to his death.
On the other hand, a 21-year-old father was caught at around 9 a.m. in Barangay Tambuan on the strength of an arrest warrant for violating Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
The father was detained at the Malinao police station lockup facility, police said.
The court recommended an P80,000 bail bond for his temporary liberty./PN
