BACOLOD City – A man who suffered from mild stroke was found floating in a river in Sitio Mahuyabhuyab, Barangay San Rafael, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.

Farmers in the village found the 57-year-old Greg Librea of Barangay Pook, Hinoba-an around 2 p.m. on Sept. 24, a police report showed.

Librea was rushed to the Eleuterio T. Decena Memorial Hospital in the town around 3:10 p.m. but the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”

From what the police gathered so far, Librea’s son Edwin has left his father alone in a hut in the village around 12 p.m. on the same day.

Edwin told his father not to swim in the river near the hut for he was not “physically fit.”

Half of Librea’s body was paralyzed, Edwin said./PN
