BACOLOD City – A 48-year-old man was found dead on the national highway in Barangay Mabini, Valladolid, Negros Occidental.

Villager Roel Vargas was believed to have been hit by a vehicle.

He sustained head injuries, according to Senior Inspector Junji Liba, municipal police chief.

Police were still trying to determine who possibly hit and run over Vargas on the evening of April 5.

Vargas was believed drunk at the time. He always was, his daughter Jenny told the police.

Liba said it may have been a case of hit-and-run./PN
