BACOLOD City – Police were looking into illegal drug trade involvement as a motive in shooting a man dead yesterday in Barangay 2.
The casualty was identified as the 36-year-old Roderick Mazo of Barangay 3.
Mazo was walking through an alley in the village when an unidentified suspect, wearing a helmet, shot him on the head causing his immediate death, a police report showed.
The gunman fled after the incident leaving an empty shell of a .45-caliber firearm, which the police recovered.
Police Station 2 head Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias said they were still verifying the motive and determining the suspect’s identity./PN
