BACOLOD City – Crossing the road turned fatal for a man in Sitio Bangcolutan, Barangay Mayabon, Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental.

He was the 45-year-old Dione Perocho, a trisikad driver of Sitio Dumandan in the village, a police report showed.

According to the investigation, Perocho was crossing the national highway when the motorcycle that the 34-year-old Billy Cabalinan Jr. of Barangay Maslog, Sibulan, Negros Oriental hit him around 7:55 on Jan. 23.

Perocho sustained serious head and body injuries, police said.

He was rushed to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City where attending physician Dr. Mark Aranas pronounced him dead around 8:42 p.m. on the same day./PN
